Job Summary
Patuxent Materials, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Service Technician. This position is responsible for the proper repair and maintenance of company vehicles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver’s license and one (1) year of experience as a Mechanic, or an equivalent combination of experience and education (Trade or Vocational school).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Maintain and repair dump trucks, roll-off trucks, pick-ups, and miscellaneous equipment.
•Troubleshoot failures and complete repairs.
•Perform required inspections and tests.
•Manage parts inventory in conjunction with mechanical supervisor to ensure the proper parts and supplies are available when needed.
•Complete all required paperwork accurately.
•Understand and maintain all safety protocols and requirements.
•Keep the shop area and all tools, shop vehicles, and equipment neat.
•Clean work area at the end of every work shift.
•Maintain security of all company equipment and tools.
•Drive service vehicles to plant sites, road calls, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
•Prior experience repairing and maintaining a truck fleet, especially diesel and gas engines.
•Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
•A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
•Capacity to provide and follow directions.
Certifications:
CDL preferred, but not required.
DOT medical card
